UAG. It's heavy but had 5 stars on amazon. Plus it was only $40. I like it for now but when funds free up I'd like to upgrade.

Did the rail fit over the gas block or did you have to remove it?

His AR came with a railed gas block from the factory, and the rail fits behind it.

Don't want to rain on your parade but you just wasted $40. I would have rather had MOE and $10. Don't trust Amazon ratings for AR parts.

Do you like your rear MBUS that far forward? Seems like it would make aiming harder.

Couldn't hurt to move the front one on to the gas block.
ETA : I THINK the best distance between the two is 14.5 inches.

I love these pictorial short stores. Sort of like a Reader's Digest stories but funnier and interactive.

It would be preferable... but if that freak show gas block gets hot enough during a range session those MBUIS are plastic. Poor guy is already emailing Magpul about a missing pin.

ouch lol

well we have to start somewhere right, Im the lucky guy that doesnt have any friends into firearms so trial buy error it is. I needed something to put my MBUS on since i cant put them on the gas block. it will do for now. its just a range toy until i learn more about it.

The magpul sites are great. I'm going to sell mine and get a pair of a dark earth green to match the other magpul stuff I bought yesterday.

As for the UTG quad rail, I have one and it had held up for me. It is heavy and when I get around to saving up some money to get a lighter one then it's gone. But until then it's done it's job.

Google search for "Ultimate Arms Gear" doesn't even return a website - just ebay links, etc.

I guess they spend all their money on research and development, not on a website and customer service... :whistling:

Psst....that was kinda my point...

I learned my lesson when I made the mistake of buying a "Target Sports Tactical" light/laser combo for my Glock - made it less than 250 rounds before the bezel cracked completely through, and the lens, reflector, and bezel all fell out the front. The store had told me I couldn't return it (I had haggled them down $10 on the price because it was the display unit), and any contact info for the "lifetime warranty" was non-existent. The laser part still makes a decent cat toy, though...

One of these days, I'll finally take my own advice to heart, and stop trying out cheaper items on the hopes they work, and just buy the good **** in the first place... Buy once, cry once.
