357 Sig SD Ammo

Hi Mas,

I really appreciate this forum. Thanks for all the helpful responses.

I am looking at 357 Sig ammunition for self defense (primarily outside the home) use.

I know that the Speer Gold Dots have the most established record in the real world.

But can you give any thoughts on the real world performance of the Winchester Ranger in 357 sig?

Also is there any difference in performance between the T-series (RA357T) and Bonded HP (RA357B) versions?

I have a buddy who is switching calibers and has some of the RA357B that I can pick up cheap. Should I grab it?

At least one big city department in Texas has reported EXCELLENT results with the Winchester Ranger 125 grain .357 SIG load. Like so many rounds of that type, it also turns out to be remarkably accurate. My friend and fellow instructor Steve Denney, a former police supervisor and SWAT officer and host of the ProArms Podcast, carries it as load of choice in his usual EDC, a Smith & Wesson M&P .357 Compact, and he shoots groups with it at 25 yards that look as if they came out of a target pistol.

Couldn't tell ya, Tom; in this caliber and brand, I've not tried or seen a comparison.
