How convenient! Someone has finally invented a weapon that combines the killing power of a double-barreled shotgun with the portability of a handgun. After a decade of development, Arsenal Firearms is turning out a double-barreled .45 caliber, semi-automatic handgun that allows you to shoot two bullets at the same time, Gizmodo reports. The new gun, which can be ordered with one trigger or two, can hit a target the size of an orange 15 yards away and has the power to knock down a bull. As the James Bond-style villain breathlessly says in the over-the-top demo video, "That's performance."

I dont see this selling to well.

Already been posted on this forum. Think it is a really useless gun, each to his/her own.

The .45ACP is a personal defense weapon, it isn't a "stopper" and having something that bulky just doesn't work for me. More bulk than a .500 S&W Mag and even firing twice, a fraction of the power, not that I would ever carry either of my .500s as a CCW firearm.

This is truly an answer to a question that didn't need to be asked. Don

The shooter is gonna need REALLY big hands to fire that thing.

As DonD said, an answer desperately in search of a question.

You will not be able to buy it in the US as it fires more than a single shot with a single pull of the trigger. That makes it a machine gun in the eyes of the ATF. So, it cannot be imported or sold to us peons.

One less round than a FN .45 and its 2 pounds heavier and probably 2x the price seems like a good plan.

That's not the point of it. The fact that it's so absurd is what makes it cool.

DonD, I really don't understand it when you said "The .45ACP is a personal defense weapon, it isn't a "stopper" ". The 45 ACP IS a Man and Fight stopper if there ever was one in a pistol!!!:wow:

The bad guy in the recent movie "The Green Hornet" had two Desert Eagles put together in the same way!!

Now that would stop anything from people to cars!

I wouldn't mind having one to go with my 50AE Desert Eagle. :embarassed:

Yeah, the .45ACP is a real powerhouse compared to a .500 Mag. Common defensive handguns are not stoppers, only massive big bore handguns and rifles are.

Are you of the school of "you shoot them in the arm and they're dead?" regarding the .45 ACP. Don

Yea Don, just shoot em in the arm...

All I know is that the person I shot and hit in about the 8 ring with my 4506 45 ACP (on duty) went down like a ton of bricks and died shortly there after. The gunfight was over then and there!!

How many people have you shot?

How many officers carry a 500 mag on duty?
None. How many use it for HD? Not very many, unless you are expecting bears to burglarize your house.

And by your reasoning the 500 is nothing compared to a 458 Win Mag.

You have to use some common sense, handguns can't compare to rifles!! But in the defensive pistol world the 45 is one of the most used and better man stoppers.

Wow, I'm supposed to be impressed that you shot someone? A sample size of 1.

Of course a .500 Mag isn't a CCW or duty gun, as you said, I never said that.

Of course the .45 ACP is a fine defensive caliber but to be a real fight stopper requires more than it can deliver and what can kicks too hard for duty or CCW use.

I'm curious, what exaxctly is it that you find "chilling" about this firearm? I've never encountered a single pro-gun member of this forum that would describe a firearm as "chilling!"

I think it is a neat idea. Kinda surprising its the first of its kind. Could be a fun gun for sport. No duty or ccw use obviously. I would be more interested in one that shoots 22lr so I could just shoot the crap out of it at the range.

On the other hand I think it is a bs article. I don't believe that it actually exists

This is what I think. It's an impractical and stupid idea that would never sell well anyway, so I doubt anyone is actually making it for sale. If somebody made one as a joke or a prototype that never makes it to store shelves, then it's irrelevant anyway.

Must be "chilling" to people who don't know anything about guns and, therefore, think it "combines the killing power of a double-barreled shotgun with the portability of a handgun."

You know what "combines the killing power of a double-barreled shotgun with the portability of a handgun?"
