Colt Mustang-best round?

I know you don't favor the .380 over others but I do have one of these and would like you option on the best defensive round for this. Thanks again for all that you do for us.

LAPD has reportedly authorized the .380 as a backup gun and is issuing Hornady Critical Defense ammo for that caliber. Shouldn't take them too long to get a track record one way or the other. Tests well in gelatin but I haven't seen any documented shooting reports on it.

As you've noted, I haven't found a .380 that gives a very reassuring balance of penetration and expansion. Any decent hollow point that you have determined feeds in the gun would be a good start.
