Just slightly bigger than my Kahr PM45, and 21 oz. vs. the Kahr's 17.

Still, looks like a very nice pistolo.

Can't wait for the XDs 9mm to come out. That's the one that I think is really going to shake things up.

Cool gun. I think the XD-S9 will sell better. I've yet to hold one in person. Looking foward to checking one out.

I'm not sure I'd call any polymer pistol "sexy", but I like it.

I would very much like this in 9mm. Hurry up Springfield!:crying:

In a way it looks like a Sig P250 Sub C and a M&P mated and this was the result.... Kinda cool, but no dice for me...

Looks sweet, like a beefed up Walther PPS :) The capacity does not bother me, heck a .45 ACP revolver would be equal and I would feel fine carrying one of those.

Yeah... That would probably get me to buy an XD. I have always sort of liked XDs but not enought to buy one over a glock. Slim 9 would change that.

I does look nice.
But when you get down to a five or six shooter?
I'll stick with Magnum Force (S&W 357).

I would be highly interested to see a side by side of this and the g36 to see which is thinner.

I too would like to see this in 9mm.

Looks OK. No use for the grip safety. I'll pass and stick to the G30.

At 21.5 oz that's way better then the 29oz originally advertised and that makes it very interesting. My 36 is still lighter. But I might buy one anyway!

Capacity is low and barrel is a little too short. I personally think they missed the mark a bit on this one. I'd much rather have a XDm 3.8 compact .45 (3.8" barrel, 9+1 capacity). .45 ACP is not meant for subcompact guns, JMO. I'd rather have a 9mm or .40 if the package is that small.

Very nice. Starting to get a little busy with all the little cutouts and designs, if they tone it down a bit, would be perfect.

That may be my next Pistol an easily concealed .45 slim with decent sights I'd prefer at least an 6+1 capacity. Knowing the history of other XD's I bet they will come up with a higher capacity mag for it soon.

Yeah. The 5 round definitely appeals to me. This is one reason I have never cared much for the 36, but, I hope they come out with a 6 and 7 round mag for winter carry. I think I might love this thing. It's gonna be between this and the pps 9mm I think.

Yet another single stack subcompact coming out. But NOOOOOO, Glock doesn't need to go there. :brickwall:

Glock already addressed the single stack 45... I just think they didn't do it quite right.

Looks good but I have enough small pistols, going to try and work out a deal on a used g35 tomorrow. I am bringing my model 637 j frame and a 1967 BAR .22 made in Belgium as trade bait. Sale price is $500.00 and it is in excellent condition, guessing it is a generation three.

By not doing it quite right do you mean slim, compact, lightweight and shoots great? also with polygonal barrel rifling with an octagonal profile, offsetting some of the velocity loss of a short barrel?

Looks OK. No use for the grip safety. .

What's so horrible about grip safeties?

They have been around for a hundred years and work just fine. On a pocket gun, having an extra safety is not a bad thing. Especially if it is one that dis-engages automatically as a grip safety does.

I agree completely, the grip safety is actually a big plus for me. I don't feel like my PPS is unsafe for lacking one, but the XDs having it is cool in my book.

I meant more along the lines of a 9/40. Which would be much smaller than a G36.

Not a big fan of grip safeties. If they're so great wouldn't you want one on EVERY gun you have? Yet I suspect not too many people do. The XDs is no pocket gun, unless you're talking winter coat pocket, and you should have a holster anyway.

No. By not doing it quite right I mean thick, bulky, and long with an awkward magazine design and no flush 5 round available. I'm sure it shoots just fine, but it is not quite right to me.

I can tell you pocket carrying the 36 is no picnic, and you need really big pockets. At 26-27oz fully loaded and ready to go its just to heavy for pocket carry!
Now this gun will be heavier then the 36 and not sure on dimensions, but I just dont see this as a "pocket gun"!

I came very close to getting a PPS this past weekend - until I held it. Felt like a block of wood in my hand (although a thin one.) I picked up another pistol that felt great instantly and came home with it. Turned out to be a Bersa BP9CC. Didn't see this one coming...

Thick? The G36 is the thinnest Glock available. Not sure what you mean by bulky. Again ... it's very slim for a .45 ACP. Long? It's a 3.78 barrel - again, very much in the standard range for a compact.

But if you're looking for a pocket gun, I am sure the G36 is not for you. People often mistake it for a subcompact. It's not.
