I dont mean to start a riot, the g19 turned me into a glock fan. I admit I am a freak of nature as it is not a natural shooter for me. Not enough finger spacing is part of my problem.

Who had the same experience? What did you settle on? There is a % in here who experienced the same.

I have large hands and I love the 19. The finger spacing could be better but the rest of the pistol more than makes up for it. A gen 2 front strap would be awesome.

My first Glock was a G19. I purchased a G17 and discovered that I could conceal the 17 as easily as I could the 19. So I got rid of the 19. I now have a G26 for an EDC. If I only owned 1 Glock, "maybe" it would be a 19. but more than likely I would have either the 17, or just keep the 26 and use the 17 mags.

YMMV

My first pistol was a Glock 19. I loved it but never shot real great with it. I shoot better groups with my Glock 17 and my Glock 26.

I really do like that size of pistol though and have since sold it and replaced it with a CZ P01. I've got my eye on the Walther PPQ and Sig P229 Elite Dark as well which are about the same size.

I should add, this is a gen 3. Ive held the gen 4, and it feels a bit better. The g17 feels alot better, just never shot it.

Same here, my first Glock was a 19. It was to small for my hand. I now have a 17 and a 34 and can coneal either one.

I had this same problem. I bought a bad ass OD green G19 that I wanted to work out so bad. I just couldn't get a comfy grip on it. I even had the finger grooves removed and re-textured, but still couldnt get used to it. I sold it and bought a gen4 G17, and I love it. It has the dreaded FTE's and brass to the forehead problem though. It's currently at Glock getting repaired. I really hope it comes back working right, I really like that gun.

I really like my G19, But I love my CZ PCR.

The CZ fits my hand better, points better and I shoot it better.

But I do Love all of the stuff you can get for the Glocks that are not as readly availble for the CZs.

I Love my Glocks and CZ's

First glock ever used and issued was a 19, so I will always be partially biased. That being said, I purchased a gen4 g27 and am absolutely blown away... It just "feels" better. I am actually shooting better than ever splitting time between the two. Stay safe.

the G19 fits my hand better than my G17 because the 19's back strap bump sits in the right place at the heel of my hand.

G26. Three pistols in one. G17 is 2nd.

I try out a G19 occasionally, but the finger spacing just does not work for me.

The midsized glocks don't leave enough finger room for my meaty hands, and they all give me slide bite. I've since discovered the excellence of the M&P.

I never had a chance to handle one, but I bet the Gen2 G19 would be nice.

The 26 is cool. I really wish Glock would make all it's slides like the 26. I like how the muzzle end is tapered instead of flat like a box.

The G19 RTF2 was my first Glock. THen, I bought a G26. Then, I realized that the G26 was better for me and did everything the G19 did and then some. So, I sold the G19 and bought a CZ P-01. Not looking back...

I never owned a G19 but, after holding a G19, I went for the G17 and couldn't be happier.

The overall size differences between the G17 and the G19 are minimal:

Length: .67"
Height: .43"
Weight: 1.06 oz.

Plus, with the G19, you're giving up two rounds in the stock magazine capacity, compared to the G17.

Add the fact that the feel of the grip of the G19 sucks, IMO, and I'll pick the G17 all day.

YMMV.

Was it because of the finger grooves, you can have them removed or go with a Gen 2 G19

I have two G17's the G19 just didn't feel "right".
If I want to carry a smaller gun I pack my H&K USPC, which is closer in size but totally different in feel to the G17.
Don't ask me why it works out that way, it's just "feel".

I have Gen 3 G33, G19 and G20s. I used to have a Gen 1 G20. I love/d both 20s and love the 33 but have never liked the 19. I am an analytical kind of individual and have a fair understanding of ergonomics but I don't understand why I don't like the 19. The finger grooves are not a problem and it looks as though the size is fine. the G20 fits my hand size better but the 33 and 19 grips are the same front to back and side to side. The Steyr M1As are the same size as the 19, near enough, and they work really well for me. Quite a puzzle! It just reinforces the fact that all hands are different and what works for one will not necessarily work for others.

The mid-sized GEN3's are a problem for my hand also. The "hump" on the grip strap hits my hand in just the wrong spot. It causs the gun to point high for me. Grip jobfrom Cold Bore Customs with the finger grooves makes it about perfect for me. The GEN4's in spite of their problems with the SF frame and the grip straps do seem to be much better pointers.
But you are not alone. In fact it's probably one of the biggest complaints about Glocks. The hump on the bigger guns falls farther down on my hand. Baby Glocks are also a better fit for me. It's very individual though.

I own and/or shoot a lot of different handguns. Partly because I've found many of them over the years that I like, partly because I've been issued a number of different ones, and partly because I've been a LE firearms instructor for going on 22 years.

The G19 is not one of them I like or want to own. I could carry and use one if it were to be issued to me, but I have no desire to ever own one.

I like the G26/27 (both of which I own, and which I find more akin to the "compacts" offered by other makers), and to some extent the G36 (although I don't own one).

My 19 and 26 are neck and neck for my most carried pistol. Depends on what I'm wearing because I love both pistols. A 26 with a +2 pearce is a hard hitting, sweet, small 13 rounds!!

I did(Glock 23 so dame difference) I bought it and it turned me from a "fan" into a "I dont like this guns grips its horrid" type(Horrid grips BUT great reliability) so i dont own Glocks anymore. Now I have Ruger(SR9c) and also like the M&P and really like the new XD(m) series. All 3 fit my hand better and are just as reliable and accurate as the Glock they replaced(in my case the SR9c).

Ive read a lot(and got the same advice when I was having my issues with Glocks Horrid grip) of the get a grip reduction/file off the finger grips...I just didnt want to take the chance that id "ruin" a gun(and its value) by doing a grip change and then finding out I still didnt like it..as another responder said..I just knew it was time for something else that was NON Glock.

Same issue, but with a Glock 32. I shaved the front of the grip, and that helped. A 17/22/31 size frame fits my hand a LOT better, but still not as nicely as a SIG 229.

I had exactly the same problem, my middle finger kept getting crowded up under the trigger guard.

Another problem was more serious for me. The G19 palm swell just didn't fit into my hand in the right place. I could settle it into a position that worked, but drawn from the holster the G19 never ended up in the right spot. It was a poor fit for my hand.

I found the G26 to be a perfect fit both for general comfort and for effective shooting when drawn from the holster. The 26 fits my hand like Glock custom designed it for me. The palm swell nestles naturally into the hollow of my palm and the trigger just naturally falls into the right place. I don't use a grip extension either, the pinky curled under the buttplace grip works with my hands. For me the G26 really is perfection.

I am also happy with my G17, but it doesn't fit me as well as my G26 does.

My groups with the 19 weren't that great no matter how much I practiced. However I shoot the 21SF and 30SF just as well as my 1911s so those are the only Glocks I own. I may test out a 36 in the future though.

I will say this id not own a Glock EXCEPT for the Glock 36..Maybe its being single stack the grip is a bit less/or different but that actually fits my hands ok..its the ONLY Glock id own.

My G19 fits my hand perfectly. I wonder which hand anatomies fit the G19 well and which don't. My hands are really big, but not very meaty. I have skinnier fingers too.

I wear a large size glove but my fingers are real skinny grips just too thick and at a horrid angle for me..gun seems like it always cocked off slightly to the right in my "natural grip" on the Glock 23..which unfortunately puts the part of the backstrap(ducktail or what ever you call it) right OVER the knuckle on top of my thumb..I can keep readjusting my grip..but why..when the Glock is the ONLY gun ive ever shot that does this..

just tells me that its in the Glocks design and that its time to stick with something that works for me instead of fool around trying to adapt to a gun. And thats on a second gen model with no finger grips...with the finger grip models the grips seem to fall wrong and my grip just feels wrong...so I just finally gave up trying to adapt to a gun...too many other just as good and just as reliable guns out there(M&P,XD,Ruger SR9c,Sig,Steyr, just to name a few) that fit my hand perfectly so I use what works 'naturally".

I love the Glock 36. I hated (for absolutely no valid reason) Glocks until I bought that pistol. Kinda' makes you wonder why I bought it, huh? LOL.

Seriously though, I love a .45, and I wanted something light, full capacity, and striker fired in a .45 so there ya go. The G30 was just a tad too chunky for what I needed.
