with or without flashhider

I've got a possible trade going on a Colt 6530 with a pencil 16" barrel without a flashhider. I've never shot an AR without one and wonder what is the effect on flash? Is it going to be dramatically worse, brighter, or not eve noticable?

You probably won't notice it during the day.

Good mil-spec or better ammo will have less flash.

The Russian stuff tends to blow big fireballs.

During day time, you won’t notice any appreciable difference. In reduced light, you’ll get a pretty good fire ball!!!

I concur with the others about not noticing it during the day. I took a LEO patrol rifle course once, and a shooter had a rifle without a flash hider. When it came to dusk/night fire.........talk about fireball!!!!
