View Full Version : Can you quote the whole 2nd Amendment?
How many of you can quote the WHOLE 2nd amendment, not just the 2nd half? Did you know that there was a first half? Most people think it is just "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
I can, so whats the point?
No! Most people think it’s about the militia. The truth is it's about the individual right to bear arms.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The people have a right to bear arms. The People don’t need to be militia members to be armed. It is necessary for The People to be armed so they can protect the state.
If you doubt what I say consider the following.
"The atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference. They deserve a place of honor with all good men." [George Washington]
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government . . . . No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms in his own hands."--Thomas Jefferson
