Recently I turned in my NC CCW permit so after it comes back I'm going to be purchasing a couple blue box glocks.

Initially I plan on starting off with commercial loads with the possibility in the future of doing reloads.

Question is how many rounds of 40 cal and 9mm do you think would fit loosely packed (ie just dumped in the can) in a 30 and 50 cal ammo can?

I'm just curious more then anything else.

1000 9mm easily fit in a 30 cal ammo can.

1000 .45 ACP easily fit in a 50 cal ammo can but lifting it is another story.

I would think the 40 S&W would be more like the 9mm. Probably about 1000 in a 30 cal ammo can.

When you want to start reloading, this is THE place to come. In the meantime, there are some excellent stickies at the top of the page.

Don't even mess with the 50's. To damn heavy.

In a 30 cal can.
40's, 1000
9's, 1200
45's, 800

Roughly.

It's all heavy...I used 50 cal cans...got them at an auction for $5/piece...only 3 to be had though...

I don't carry them around...just for storage...I used smaller boxes to toss in the range bag

Make sure you take some time for yourself, go outside or take a nice walk. That is an impressive picture for sure.
