380 ACP: FMJ or HP?

I am getting mixed messages regarding 380 ACP. I intend to carry a Sig Sauer P238 where this is all I can carry based upon my clothing (dress slacks, suits, tuxedo). It will serve as a backup for my Primary carry, also. Some are saying that FMJ is more effective than Hollowpoints. Is that true? What ammo brand/grain would you recommend in this caliber?

Hard for me to recommend a load in a caliber I don't recommend. Personally, I'd take the money for the first box of premium .380 and use it to buy a belly band, that would allow me to conceal a small, flat 9mm or a J-frame under tux, fitted suit, etc.
