View Full Version : New spring weight??
Not a glock but I have a Kimber Stainless Target in 10mm on the way.
Already cranking out reloads for it.
What weight recoil spring should I go to for medium to heavy loads?
What is the stock spring rated?
I have a box of laser cast 155's to use up at first, then I'm going to the 180 jacketed bullets.

For a 1911 10mm, get a flat bottom firing pin stop (EGW makes one), and/or a heavier main spring (hammer spring). These delay unlocking, which is what you need for heavy loads. Heavier recoil springs do not.

I believe the stock Kimber 10mm spring is 17-18lbs. I'd recommend a 20lb spring and a flat bottomed firing pin stop installed... this would be the best setup for all loads, if you ask me.
