Have you ever tried Anchovie butter, Kurt? It is good stuff:eat:

1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) unsalted butter, softened
4 teaspoons minced drained bottled capers
3 flat anchovy fillets, minced and mashed to a paste
1 garlic clove, minced and mashed to a paste
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

preparation

In a small bowl cream together the butter, the capers, the anchovy paste, the garlic paste, the lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Let the butter stand, covered, in a cool place for 1 hour to allow the flavors to develop. Serve the butter with veal or seafood.

It's just not done in polite circles.

Anyway, like I was sayin', anchovey is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, anchovey-kabobs, anchovey creole, anchovey gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple anchovey, lemon anchovey, coconut anchovey, pepper anchovey, anchovey soup, anchovey stew, anchovey salad, anchovey and potatoes, anchovey burger, anchovey sandwich. That- that's about it.

Either cooked on pizza, or raw fillets drenched in olive oil.

A little goes a long way.

You failed to mention anchovie chili. :miff:

I like anchovies but garlic gives me nightmares. I dreamed Hillary showed up late one night in an orange negligee. It was horrifying! Never again does garlic touch my palate.
Dries me throat out and messes with me GI tract too. Vampires won't even touch it. Anchovy pizza, mmmm!
