I would go with the G19. As an afterthought, I could have just as easily picked one up for CC, as well as home defense, instead of my G17 a few weeks ago at the gun show, but I felt that my first Glock should be the one that started it all.

The G36 would be my second choice.

If it has to be just 1 then My G-17 will be it. I shoot it the best, it carrys comfortably, and conceals very well in the Mtac Minotaur, and the (still hanging in there) TFOs
give a great sight picture day or night.
I have a G-26, but need lots more range time to get used to it and the XS Big Dot sights I put on it.
I carry a G-17 spare mag reguardless of which pistol (G-26 or G-17) I carry.

We are talking CCW only. With the 26 or any sub compact (pick your caliber they will all defend youself), you can pocket carry if needed. It can be more comfortable on certain ways to carry. You can put a mag extention for a larger grip to grab. Or you can throw in a G17 mag if you want to carry and have a lot of rounds.

G26 Gen 4 is my only pistol right now, and I carry it in IWB with a Remora holster (no clip, works great, very comfortable and it never moves around on me). I really like the G19, and would put it a close second. I'm also a tall thin dude, so the hardest thing for me to conceal is the grip. I find the G26 to be more concealable, and thus a better CCW choice for me. I live in FL, and we don't have a 'cold' season where I could wear a coat over a larger gun. I'm often wearing shorts and a tshirt in Dec/Jan, and the G26 tucks away just fine for me.

Probably my Glock 33 .357 Sig. I have a .40 Glock barrel. I also have a Glock 26 that is dedicated as a practice gun.

Yea that way I can pack a .40 or .357 and practice with 9mm any day of the week.

Did I also mention I have a AACK .22 unit for that practice Glock 26?

It's not a fair question. You should have asked, "If you could only have 5 Glock's for ccw, what would you pick?" Now that I think of it, 5 might not be enough. Glock's are a terrible disease that I love so.

But I'll play. If only one, my G26. The G29 is a very close second.

capttommie

Well they do capttommie! They make a 11.48mm (some call it the .45 ACP.)

And with extra power recoil spring .45 Supers can be used giving a 230gr slug 1100 fps.

Deaf

Really? My 10 is 1400fps. Do we really need to go there again? Someone will pull some ballistics and everyone will still have the same opinion they started with.

My original pick would have been the G23 until I bought my G29. So i will vote for the 29 due to all the combinations of bullet weights for different purposes.

Glock 19. The finest combat/ccw/survival pistol available. Small enough for ccw, big enough capacity-wise for a full battle pistol. Get one or two full sets of replacememnt parts, plus up the spring stash and average joe can repair it himself. Install maritime cups for the rainy season and slap on a set of xs big dots. 147 gr +p HSTs and I fear no evil. Oh, and a blade-tech IWB. What's the old saying? "There are many like it, but this one is mine"

I guess it would be the one I have had since 92. My G19.
Heck I just bought my second Glock a 21 earlier this year. I figured since I bought a Kriss Super V SBR, that I ought to have a pistol that uses the same mags.

I own both the 17 and the 26. I think its personal preference, however, I have found it only slightly more inconvenient to carry the 17 over the 26. I plan on selling my 26 as I am more confident with the 17. I only carry on occasion and have a medium frame.

For me it would be the largest calibre that I could place accurate rounds with and conceal easily (with a permit of course). I've been carrying a G26 and G30 but as of late am looking at the G36 witha couple of ten round spare mags.

Glock 26 for CCW. I have the 17, the 19 and the 26 and I always end up carrying the 26. If I had only one Glock, it would be the 19 but the 26 is better/easier for concealed carry.

I carry a 26 as my EDC.

But, you guys got me thinking on the G19 again. So I had to dig it out and change it out for a few hours. I actually think it rides better than the 26. The 19 was my EDC until I got my 26 two years ago.

Sometimes it's G29 at 1,450fps.

Sometimes it's G26 at 1100fps.

And G20 at 1,600fps with a 6" barrel on the road, especially through forest areas.

I don't like to deal with 4-legged troubles using just a 9mm.

After owning several Glocks in 9mm, .45acp and 10mm I settled on the GEN4 Glock 19 as my carry gun.

With good ammo there is little difference in terminal ballistics between calibers so I opted for a caliber that I find easy to shoot well and that is also more affordable to practice with. After all, shot placement rules...

I personally preferred the mid-sized G19 over the G26 because the G19 is small enough to conceal while still allowing for a full-sized feel in my (fairly large) hands.

As a bonus I also like the fact that the G19 has a rail for mounting a weapon light so the same gun can serve as my home defense weapon.
