Big uh-oh

So, purchased a Ghost Connector (5.0) and swapped it real quick.

Went to test, and the trigger wouldn't go back all the way. I would get through the first part of the travel, but it seemed as if it couldn't get through the connector - would feel like it just hit a wall.

So, decided to take it apart and look at it...except, before I even attempted I knew that I wouldn't be able to get the slide off because the trigger had not been depressed.

Any help with this? Anyone had this happen before, and knows how to get around this problem? I essentially have a gun that won't fire, and I can't get the slide off. Damn.

I've done quite a few trigger mods on several glocks, so not knowing how to take apart/put together and how to swap out parts is not the issue.

Exactly which connector did you buy? The Rocket and Tactical models have an overtravel stop that you have to file down. Until you file it down to the correct point, you can't pull the trigger far enough to release the firing pin.

(note that you may have to adjust the bend angle, how much the connector is bent outward from the trigger housing. see: "SECTION II: INSTALLATION ROCKET & TACTICAL", just below that you'll see "Note:", with instructions on how to adjust the bend angle)

To get the gun apart, you have to lock the slide back, detail strip the slide and remove the firing pin assembly. With the firing pin removed you can push the slide forward off the frame. Here are some detail strip resources if you need them.

I don't know why I didn't think to strip the slide. Certainly not intended to be an indictment, but you may have forgotten that the link between the firing pin and cruciform (sear surface) has to be broken in order to field-strip the pistol; that is why one has to pull the trigger before field-stripping and why you have to do it again if you inadvertently pull the slide back too far in the take-down process.
