"I do not understand the near manic and shameless compulsion of so many blacks to be angry victims – nor can I understand how black preachers reconcile the Holy Bible with the messages of hate so many preach. But I understand perfectly the reasons pursuant to why they do.

Victimization is the viscous lubricant used to grease the gears of the inculcated “we shall never overcome” machine. Self-segregation, separation, alienation and a lack of factually understanding what personal pride really is, are the most readily identifiable methods used to sustain the beliefs of victimhood."

Yes, I do believe the author nailed it.

Like the famous quote, "Houston, we have a problem".

The lamestream media tries to pretend black conservatives don't exist. Leftist blacks try to pretend black conservatives are race traitors.

Look at how Allen West was treated when he asked to join the Congeressional Black Caucus. They hemmed and hawed, shuffled their feet, looked at each other like they'd just been caught playing with themselves and reluctantly allow him in. I'm pretty sure that Lt. Col West did it to smoke them out and force them to reveal their true selves which they did. He's also no longer a member of the caucus having resigned his membership.

The soft racism of low expectations...

It's okay to be angry, bitter, frustrated, and unsuccessful. It's everyone else's fault. Embrace your victimhood.

It strikes me that the reason black conservatives are so reviled by the Left is that they don't play into the narrative that you need Big Government giving you a hand-out -- and rather, that success is within the grasp of anyone who applies themselves. They certainly don't need the likes of Lt. Col. West, Herman Cain, or Lloyd Marcus as living examples of a counter-narrative.

"Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are leeches and extortionists." And, what are they if they instigate violence and promote civil unrest?:dunno:

"Don't you just love black conservatives?" -Yes. There are a few and they make solid, positive, contributions to the discourse. :patriot:

I was basically called a racist for daring to tell someone on facebook not to rush to judgement on the Trayvon shooting because of media skew. Its funny how if you agree with them you are good. If you disagree or point out racism coming from blacks then you are labled a racist. Nothing but perpetual self-victimization going on there. If you never met someone in your family tree that was a slave, then how do you keep using that tired old excuse?

Mychal Massie is one very shrewd human being! As far as I'm concerned he's, 'spot-on' with his analysis of the black dilemma in America, today. He has, also, pegged the dearth of honest and competent leadership which presently exists in, both, the White House and Congress.

Obama, Jackson, and Sharpton do, indeed, foster their own ends, and feed themselves upon whatever hatred they're able to arouse in others; and, like jackals, the New Black Panther Party arrives to feast upon whatever remains. (Does anybody remember the very tragic and sordid Twana Brawley affair? A good man died over those lies.)

I don't often completely agree with someone else; but, this time, I find myself in complete agreement with Massie. It really is next to impossible to get anywhere in life with a mind full of hateful and negative emotions. So yes, in a very real sense, it IS entirely possible for Blacks to be their own worst enemy.

In spite of all the social dissemblance and political caricature: Obama, Jackson, and Sharpton work to create, America is NOT a nation full of White people who wish Black people nothing but ill. THAT is the popular myth the socialist media wants to create. Subtle and perverse Black men like these do NOT dedicate their lives to helping other Blacks to succeed. Instead they justify and profit themselves by pandering to and, thereafter, dragging down their fellow Blacks who, left to their own open-minded volition, might otherwise succeed.

A couple of years ago I read a story about a black professor of Sociology. He spent a year living with black families whose children attended a prestigious private academy. The black parents requested the study because they thought their kids were being discrimanted against. After the year-long study, the black Dr. reported that the black students who had the benefits of good parenting and money did poorly because it wasn't cool to achieve. Of course the parents didn't want to hear this. Between the parents and other black people in the Dr.'s field, he was basically shutdown.

I have tried like hell to find this story, but haven't had any success locating it. It almost seems like it has been erased from the internet.

The "'we shall never overcome' machine" is a good phrase. The racism business is like the weight loss business: if you really help people fix the problem, you go out of business - the money is in convincing them that your are helping, while making sure the problem remains.

Yup! This happens much more than you might think. I became educated to this, 'cyberspace phenomena' during all the furor over Dick Cheney's hunting accident. So help me, I remember politically unfavorable information being, 'scrubbed' off Google as quickly as within 30 minutes of being posted. If you wanted the other side of the story you had to, 'grab it out of the air' during the first ten minutes it was published.

So, the spokeswoman for the school distirct says that while Professor Ogbu called most of the black families in the district middle class, 10 to 12 percent live in poverty.

And the spokeswoman can't see a propblem with her statement? Maybe the schools are at fault.
