Has anyone chronographed The same ammo in both glocks.
I am interested in seeing how much slower the G29 is over the G20.
That is I assume the shorter barrel will be slower
with factory ammo.

Thanks

I love my G29 10 mm.

From what I've read (and I've owned both BTW), there's only about 60-75 fps difference in velocity. There will be more loss with lighter bullets than with heavier bullets.

You can go to the stickies of the various manufacturer's powders on the top of this subforum and they have many, many chrony readings of similar loads used on the different length barrels. It won't take long to get a feel of what type of load are affected the most by barrel lengths and what the effect might be.

I chrono everything I shoot. Give or take a bit, going from a G20 to a G29 will drop the velocity 60 fps. All my work has been with 155, 165 and 180gr jacketed bullet. Nothing with 135's or 200's or lead.

60 fps comparing stock bbls. I have an aftermarket exits length bbl on my G29, equates to G20 , carries like G29! :)
