As time passes, what's considered historically important changes.

I was born in 1953 so history, english, math and a strong work ethic were considered important and were taught in school.

Today's children are also taught what's historically important for their time frame.

Today self-esteem, white guilt, atheism, homosexuality and how to live a hedonistic lifestyle are what's considered important to today's children.
