What happens when atheism is allowed to spread:

The fact that you're citing reports from TheOnion does help explain how you manage to reach the conclusions you do.

so they taught a chimp that his body will die. i dont get what youre trying to imply about athiests.

now on a serious note, the onion is a satyrical (sp?) program.

Allowed to spread? Thinking of it in those terms makes me long for the good old days when $@#t stirrers like Giordano Bruno were burned at the stake for their own good and the good of society.

The fact that you're citing reports from TheOnion does help explain how you manage to reach the conclusions you do.What do you mean? If you believe it, that makes it true. Isn't that how it works? Doesn't matter if its from the Onion, you're just shooting the messenger because you can't dispute the argument. :whistling::rofl:

Hmmm... Just thought this thread itself would make a good Onion story. If the OP wasn't sincere, that is.

Why take a happy, healthy and well adjusted ape and teach him something as morbid as his own death?

Between apes and man, sometimes I wonder who's the more intelligent?

The Onion? LOL

I guess he believes everything he reads.

The clip is a joke, people. As pointed out The Onion is satire.

Teaching bunnies their own mortality... that is funny. I'm still trying to teach them what is Intelligent about their needing to eat their food once, then pass the smelly mucousy cecotropes and eat those in order to get the needed nutrients.

aside from anything religous, the ape in the video only appears to be showing the hand signs he was taught,

i dont think the ape ACTUALLY understands that he/she will die one day,

just cause the show him a dead ape and say that will be him one day dosent mean he will understand,

what they show him is that dead ape in repatition and that repatition is what he/she understands, not that he/she will end up like that one day

JMHO YMMV:wavey:

Is the satire gene recessive or something?

I actually consider TheOnion about as credible if not more credible then the bible. I have seen more than a few of The Onion stories that seem like they could actually happen. At least they admit they aren't real though.

Between apes and man, sometimes I wonder who's the more intelligent?

It may sound like a joke, but truly, I have seen on many occasions where animals exhibit much more humanity than humans.

And much more dignity.

So I hope that answers your question.

I really really really hope that was meant to be humorous.

And I hope that those responses that seemed serious, were also in jest.

It would be very depressing if all ya 'all really took that seriously.

Hogwash...I meant every word of it.

Animals are smarter than humans!

And why not? Aren't they the offspring of Animal Mother?

That every poster hasn't realized this was an Onion story is depressing.

Is TS serious or joking?

If serious then this is a pretty impressive piece of self pwn art.

So are you saying that Tilley may have finally made a point about atheism...but not the one he intended?

That every poster hasn't realized this was an Onion story is depressing.

But not surprising.
