This is now my carry gun with Ranger T in 230 grain standard presure in a milt sparks vm2 with extra mag. Is this a good all around carry set up? Will the ammo expand when coming out of such a small barrel

Good gun, good holster, and a load engineered by the factory to expand when fired from short barrels. Sounds like you're in good shape.
