Hey all,

This is the 2nd time in a week that I have ran across one of the GI No Name 1911. This one was the CCO in stainless. Boy those pistols look great. I knew of GI only from them making an upper or an entire 1911 chambered in 50GI. I wasn't aware they were a full on custom house churning out top notch 1911's.

So, if you all don't mind, how about catching me up a bit with some pics and some thoughts about their product and work.

Lastly, how do they stand against their competition? Are they full house custom, semi custom or what? I guess it would help to figure out where they fit before ranking them...

I certainly wouldn't mind owning a couple....

Thanks for the help.

Great Company. I would rate them as a Semi Custom shop. They churn out 1911's at a good rate, although they do take their time to make sure they come out right. As far as ranking goes, I would put them up their with Wilson Combat. I guarantee guarantee that you will have more than enough pictures once a few read this post.

I've got a full custom build by a RRA Pistolsmith.
The quality of my GI No Name is on par if not better!

The GI will easily compare head to head with Wilson, Baer & Brown!

Accurate, reliable, and durable.
Excellent fit and finish.
Great customer service. Alex and his team always make themselves available to answer questions or address concerns.
I chose my NN over a CQB Elite, after shooting both.
Really nice weapon in every way - at the top of my list.

No personal experience shooting one...but everything that I have read has been A+...looking at them confirms what I have read.

Would love to get a NN as my next gun...

It can't get here fast enough! The finish is the only thing I'm worried about not being completely ecstatic about. I'm getting the normal finish(if that's the way to explain it). Dave told be it's comparable to the finish on Glocks, or at least that's how I understood it. I love the finish on most Glocks. Not the finish they used a couple years ago that looked more dull than glossy. Anyways, I'm sure this is going to be a bad mama jama!

WOW!!

Those sure are some awfully nice looking 1911's!!

Before seeing those few blurbs about them, I had no idea what kind of operation that had.

I've seen you all mention how they stack up against the other BIG NAMES, can someone tell how they stand price wise with the others? How about some comparisons with regard to prices? If you all don't mind.

Thanks for the pics. Just so you know, I will be taking all the pics and saving them to my hard drive for future lusting purposes...

Wow, really? I'm actually considering a CQB Elite or Model 1 45 ACP. I have a GC NN.

Here it is after swapping the solid trigger out for a 3 holer and swapping the olive Alumagrips out for black ones. It's pictured with Alex's Hamilton Bowen Ruger in .50GI. VERY cool gun. :)
