View Full Version : Just in.... Dan Wesson Black VBOB
I'll apologize in advance for the teaser post. I'm going to do a very detailed picture and range review (hopefully this weekend), but I wanted to just share a quick picture and thoughts. I got this used from Buds at $1479, which I think is a good price, considering this was in practically new condition.
- Dan Wesson Valor VBOB in Black Duty Treat finish
- Shell casing dated December 2011
Extras installed include:
- VZ Black/Gray Slim Double Diamond Grips (instead of factory Black Desert Sand)
- Heinie Ledge 3D Rear Sight (2 rear tritium dots instead of the 1 straight eight config)
- Wilson Combat Bulletproof Ambi Safety finished in Diamond Black IonBond
I am going to write a lot more detail with more supporting photos soon, but for now... in one word, this pistol is... PERFECT.
That's enough for now. Here's a crappy cell phone photo.

Great looking 1911!
I like that finish, wonder if I could send in my DW guardian to get it re-finished. How does it compare to Wilson's amor-tuff finish?
Your DW Guardian already has that finish... I think they only made them with Duty Treat slides.
Mine sure doesn't look that dark...yours is black and mine looks more blue-ish from what I remember (don't have it near me). Also I think my guardian is from 2010 production.

What size is that? 4.25 or full size?

VBOBs are 4.25 inches.
Nice pick up OP. I already have a SS VBOB but the black finish Valor is definitely on the to do list.

That's what I thought, though I've never been a good judge of measurements...
Luckily my girlfriend isn't either....:rofl::faint:

Gorgeous! How does it shoot? I had a Wilson and made the mistake of selling it. Been looking for another quality 1911, other than my Kimber Pro CDP.
