I scored a 1991 P228 DAO from a friend at work (I carried one for 12 years). The trigger is way too heavy, but that can be remedied. I like the Bar/Dot sights. Now, for some Hogue extreme grips and a refinishing job.

Will do. I've replaced the recoil spring and the mainspring. I put in a 19lbs. mainspring, and the trigger is much better.
Now, I'm waiting for the Hogue extreme grips.

Finally got around to snapping some pics. The DAK Hogue G-10 grips eliminate the decoker hump, and they feel thinner as well. The checkering is sharp. I may lightly sand it down.

Good choice, I like the Hogue grips G-10 checkered.
Here is mine DAO P220, DAO makes a great carry gun, I still love my 1911, The P228 in DAO must be one sweet shooter.

It is very nice and very safe. Like a good revolver DA pull. I did put a lighter mainspring on and an updated trigger bar spring.
