Today at Wal Mart I saw a smartphone case, turn up the damn thing was 69.88. How the hell can this thing command that kind of price? I mean it was camo but other than that it didn't appear to be any thing special, I mean I paid like 15 bucks for the camo case for my Tundra:headscratch::dunno:

Was it an Otter Box?

The Otterbox Defenders are normally about $50+

otterbox is the brand of the general go-to for rugged cases for smart phones.

I have some issues with otterboxes and don't like them, much prefer trident cases myself.

Okie - you know how retail works, most things are overpriced and underperforming - trident and otterbox deliver for the cost invested.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was some knock off garbage trying to get people to pay oodles for nothing.

They are very good at protecting smart phones from clumsy idiots.

If it was a LifeProof that's a great price. If it was an element vapor that's a steal!

I don't think Walmart sells either of those though.

My place of employment sells Lifeproofs for $80 and I think its probably worth it since its waterproof, dust proof, shockproof etc.

Cheaper that a $650 Iphone without a contract when you break yours.

I bought an otterbox for my iphone 4 after my 3yr old got a hold of it and I had to spend $150 getting the screen replaced. Now I can let him play with it all the time and have no issues.

In fact it did such a great job at protecting it that I bought one for my ipad too. Small investment to make to keep expensive stuff protected from daily life with a toddler in the house.

Magpul is making an iphone case that looks a little like their magazines and AR parts, from the same plastic - they go for $9.99. I'll probably get one.

Which makes you wonder why the manufactures don't just make them tougher to begin with.

Or with a bigger battery.

What good is thin and light if the battery only lasts a few minutes and it breaks when you drop it.
