I got my Remington R1 Enhanced last week. I threw a TechWell System (XT / Silver) on it to make reloads in SS USPSA a little easier and to make the gun look a little more competition like. A few of you helped me with the magwell and grip issue, and I thank you, but now I have a couple more things I would like to do to it. I took it straight out of the box, added the Techwell System, and then shot 50 rounds of Aguila 230gr FMJ, and 100 rounds of WWB 230gr FMJ without any failures. The gun shot great and it was accurate as heck, 3 inch group at 15 yards my first day shooting it. Shot it again today, without cleaning it or lubing it, 100 rounds of MagTec 230gr FMJ, no failures, great accuracy, same results as before. I love this 1911.
BUT, even though the trigger pull is where I want it (maybe 3-4 pounds) it isn't the exact design I would like to have. I prefer the triggers from EGW and STI with straight gunsmith blank or at the least less of a curve than whats on there now. Can I switch the trigger bar without affecting the guns pull weight? Outside of that I think I would like to put a Dawson Precision rear sight on it, not that the Novak type adjustable is bad, its just that all of my other competition guns have Dawsons or Warrens on it and having the same sight picture on all my competition guns would be advantageous.
