Left side grip loosening up is common on 1911s. Remove, add some blue loctite to the screws, reinstall. Done.

most beat up rattly old gi 1911's will shoot groups like that pro at 7 yards- hell my beater 40 year old smith 36 snubby will. get that gun to 25 or 50 yards and shoot some groups- that is where the fit and finish of a quality 1911 will show what it is capable of!

My SR1911 holds consistent 1.6 inch groups at 25 yards from a Ransom Rest using Federal HST 230 grain (P45HST2).

Pretty impressive for a $700, off-the-rack 1911.

i rarely shoot beyond 10yds with a pistol, mostly practical engagement distances of 7yds or less. i work on a smooth, quick draw and presentation, trigger press, and hits on target.
