Next Wednesday is my birthday, (I got a birthday discount from Midway and Little Stevie didn't), but since I'm leaving for Ft. Worth, Friday morning the ladies at the dance club I frequent threw me a surprise party last night.

I have a habit of bringing in a couple dozen roses for holidays, or just for the hell of it and handing them out to the ladies. (A system that reaps huge rewards I might add.)

About two hours into the night one of the ladies asked me to take a seat at the center bar... figured she was either going to yell at me about something or touch me with a ten foot poll.

As I sat on the bar stool one lady tied Mylar birthday balloons to my chair and then each of the 24 ladies that had been hiding on the other side of the bar walked up, one by one, presented me a rose accompanied by a big kiss and a hug. (A few guys jumped in line and those who tried to give me a kiss were knocked on their keister, those who just offered a handshake escaped unscathed.)

The night progressed from there, the exact details not suitable for posting on a family forum but suffice it to say in my many decades of roaming the earth last night, (speaking of the surprise party), is probably the nicest thing that has ever happened to me. The multitudes of cards with very personal messages inscribed within touched me more than I am willing to publicly admit.

On an even brighter note, I'm teaching five of the ladies to shoot and pass their CCW classes. That's a bunch of loading I don't mind doing. (They're all going to have a real hard time hiding a gun but I am more than willing to offer as much hands on instruction as necessary... and then some.
