Fondled a Kel Tec PMR 30 today and have to say the idea of a 30 round plinking pistol sounds great to me. And call me crazy but I thinking a 22mag could make a decent SHTF senerio caliber.
Any one have one? What you think. Would you recommend it? Any limitations.

Will add if I don't get it I will proably pick up a very early gen2 (possibly gen1 got to do a little more research) glock 19.

Sent an iPhone 4s sitting next to a Glock 17 loaded with 19 round of +P+ ammo.

They are a BLAST!!!! (pun intended):wow:

I had some issues with ammo/mags but it was because you have to load the mags in a specific way because they are subject to rim-lock. I will say that the 40-grain TMJ Maxi-Mags were flawless and AWESOME!!!!! (see pic above ^^^)

My advice would be to get one as soon as possible because of the impending panic-buying frenzy due to the approaching "end of times".

I was even on AIM's website and they are out of most everything because I guarantee they are saving it for the "feeding frenzy" that should be starting within the next couple months.

All I can say is that this gun is a hoot to shoot and you are correct....it will make a great SHTF gun because it packs a real PUNCH!!!!!

Get one while you can still afford to get one!

What is the going price for one of those?

What is the going price for one of those?

Anywhere from $300 to $600, depending on the source.

I got mine on GB for $460 + shipping + dealer fee = $505

A tad high? Perhaps.

They will only go up as we get closer to December 21st!:wavey:

Over $500, which is well over retail.

If the vendors are 'saving up' for the impending panic buying frenzy, why will they out of everything when that frenzy starts?

IIRC $420 is suggested retail and dealers are paying $280-330.

Around here 15-20% is best you can hope towel up a new gun if you want to be competitive. BUT we have lots of dealers around. With in a one hour drive and staying in my state I can visit at least a dozen.
I saw one dealer with 3-4 in a stack for $600 ea. NOT atall suprised he had them. I here thru a friend that he dropped the price to $419 and sold them all in two days.

My dealer will sell them to me at his regular markup. About 350$. WHEN he is able to get one. He has had a good track record with getting 1-4 a month.

I am hoping to get mine before a July ATV vacation. I would really like to bring it along!

I had some initial problems and sent it back to Kel Tec. They were excellent to work with, owned up to the issues and it has been flawless since. It's a blast to shoot, very accurate.

I saw one at a Dallas show recently for $700; dealers are still gouging the public. I paid $500 for mine and would do it again.

Good luck!

I said the website is out, I did NOT say the dealer is out. I also said that they are SAVING it for the feeding frenzy....and anyone that thinks there won't be higher prices on EVERYTHING related to surviving the "end times" as we approach December needs to get a reality check.

After handling one, no thanks... looks and feels too cheaply made for that kind of money...

I waited for a year for one of the local shops to get one in. Last December I found one for 399. I picked up a third mag for $20 as a bonus. I love it. If you load the mags right it will be %100. I like 30 rounds of 22 mag for self defense. Good gun. The supply and demand crunch will end soon and you will be able to get one for less than $450.

Cool:cool: More for the rest of us because I might get another one before the end of the year.

I waited for a year for one of the local shops to get one in. THIS I believe!

Ditto. I kind of wish it was available in .22LR, but I've thought it was something I would end up with ever since they were announced a few years ago at SHOT.

Cool pistols.

Not the most practical gun in the world, 22 mag is not much cheaper than 9mm. If they made one in .22 lr, now THAT would be the ultimate plinking pistol.

For a 30 round HD or SHTF pistol a Glock 17/19 with a 33 round mag is a better idea.

Agree with most of the other posters here. Very cool shooter. I picked mine up used, after it had been sent back to Keltec. The early ones had some issues, can't remember what exactly. The last range trip I had a few move over my way to check it out.

The mags have to be loaded a specific way. No problems at all since I've had it.

I paid $289 OTD and for that price it was a good buy...I certainly wouldn't pay MSRP or more than MSRP for ANY Kel Tec.

Bud's has them for $299 shipped. They're out right now, but I'm sure they'll have them pretty soon.

No, they won't.

You know how you can click on the "Notify Me" text at the top and left-hand side of the page of out of stock items?

I did that for the PMR-30 MORE THAN a year ago and STILL have yet to receive an email that they have one in stock.

I'm a fan of the 22WMR and I've been putting off buying one for a long time.

With so little recoil and 30 rounds you can easily afford doing a Bill Drill on a BG.

For some reason, I'm afraid to end up with a piece that jams more than I can tolerate....
