I don't know if we have any .44 Auto Mag fans here, but just an FYI.....Maynard Arms is now reproducing the 8.5" full vent rib barrels like the one used by Clint Eastwood in Sudden Impact.

And here's the crazy part. Brian Maynard actually delivers on-time and gives nearly daily updates on progress. He is getting ready to make another run, so if you want one, you need to contact him soon. In this last run, he made barrels in .357 AMP (shown) .44 AMP, and 45 Win Mag. In the next run, he might be adding .41 JMP and .40 KMP as well.

One of the coolest looking pistols ever. How can you not like a pistol carried by Mack Bolan and 'Dirty' Harry Callahan?

I had the opportunity to buy a .44 Automag, back in '79.
A "Gyrojet" was right beside it, in the showcase.

Coulda had the Automag and 3 magazines for $400.00.
I should have bought it.

Yep....with the collection you have, I am quite surprised there is not an Auto Mag in there.

I bought my first 3 barrel set (.357/41/44 Auto Mag) when I was 23 years old back in 1989. It is certainly my favorite pistol of all time. I even named my dog after it.

My buddy picked up a 357 Auto Mag last year. It came with 200 pieces of brass and two mags for $1800!
Apparently, all you need to convert it to a 44 Auto Mag is the barrel. That's what he told me anyway.

That is correct. You only need to swap the barrel in order to run .357 AMP, 41 JMP, 44 AMP, or 45 Win Mag. There is no other big bore auto loader like it.......where BOTH sights are on the barrel so you don't have to adjust the sights when swapping calibers.

It really takes away from the versatility of your gun, if you have to stop and sight-in the damn thing every time you make a "quick" caliber change.

Here is a group I shot, hand held, no rest, at 50 feet running seven rounds of .357 AMP, seven rounds of 41 JMP, and seven rounds of 44 AMP, all on the same frame.
Below is a FIVE shot group fired with the 41 JMP, hand held, no rest, at 50 feet. I threw one out.

OMG. An Able Team reference. I must have been 12 or 13 when Stony Man Doctrine came out, and haven't thought about that series in 25 years. Wow.

Mack Bolan later traded it for the Desert eagle .44 and Beretta 93R combo.

Yep. Although he used a Beretta in the early, early novels at times- back when Don Pendleton was still actually writing them.

Lol. I started reading them in 8th grade and at one point had every Mack Bolan novel from 1 to 200 and had read them all. Plus all the Phoenix Force books and some
Of the Stony Man crossovers.

I still have the original Mack Bolan novels Don Pendleton wrote.

Now back to the original thread, already in progress...

In the very first Executioner books (late 1960's) Bolan carried a Luger and a snub nosed .32 revolver.

while growing up i had 2 cousins the same age at me but unlike me they had no interest in guns of any sort. they didn't hate them or anything, they just didn't have any desire to know anything about them at the time.

flash forward a bunch of years and i finally managed to get them into recreational shooting and they both fell hard for the sport.

flash forward a few more years and my uncle passed away. come to find out he had a secret stash of 4 automags. 2 .44's and 2 .357's, and both sets were sequentially numbered. along with the 3 guns were also spare mags for each, 900 brass cases, reloading dies, paperwork, and just about anything else you can think of to start or complete a collection.

1 cousin traded his for a busted ass basketcase harley and the other sold his for like 800$ to buy some ruger shotgun. that was 10 years ago and i still have the urge to punch them both in the junk every time i see them.
