I just plunked a down payment on a new full size Sig "nightmare" 1911. Anyone have one of these beauties? Saw it in the LGS, for $949, and it just spoke to me.

That looks great, I have had good experiences with the Sig 1911 XO and Nitron versions.

I am patiently waiting for my full size in 357 Sig. Dealer told me with a wink, might not be until Santa is in town!

I have one, heard all the bad stories and guess what? NEVER, EVER had a problem. I trust it as much as my Glock(s)!!

My local shop has one for sale. I handled it and was impressed.

Well, at least I have more time to save up. I'm waiting on the same thing.

ETA: That time frame seems to be the consensus from several other internet forums.

I had it at the range yesterday. Put around 200 rounds through it, mixed ball and HP ammo.

It doesn't like the Winchester ranger 230gr +p HPs I had. Twice I got failure to return to battery on the last round of the mag. I was using the 2 Sig mags, and a Kimber mag, and an unknown mag I had laying around. Also had a couple double feeds. Once with HP, once with ball ammo.

It takes ALOT of force to seat the mags in this gun, significantly more than I'm used to. Like you have to smack it to get it to seat, you can't just push it.

The stippling is VERY aggressive. I love grippy guns, I had the friction tape on all of my glocks, I put houge grips on revolvers, etc etc, but this is by far the most aggressive I have ever felt. If its hot and sweaty at the range, like it was here in Alabama, you will defoliate a layer of skin after a few hundred rounds.

Recoil is also way more than I'm used to on 1911s. I don't understand why, but it is definitely noticeable. Granted this is only the third 1911 I've ever shot (kimber, metroarms)

Ive got 300 more rounds of fmj to put through it next weekend, so I will with hold judgement on reliability until I put those downrange.

Next trip will also include accuracy testin as well as continued function testing.
