What do you think of this U shaped magazine. I think it will be nice if it works. I also like the looks of a good 40 shot magazine for my AR.

This may be more compact and easier to carry.

Wake me up when he has working prototypes.

Until it had been used in hundreds of thousands of rifles over a couple decades in a wide variety of climates, I probably would not trust it for duty use. Color me cautious.

Interesting concept if it works. The thing I personally never liked was these larger round mags they seem to get in the way more than anything. For instance on my Mini 14 the 20 round mag just feels right where the 30 round mag to me anyway seems to big and cumbersome. The 20 round mags will fit in almost any denium pants rear pocket or jacket pocket comfortably. JMO.

I'll stick with Pmags. I don't mind reloading every 30.

That thing looks cumbersome and like it would be annoying as hell to carry around on the chest or belt. Imagine trying to go prone with those in a chest rig or plate carrier.

I wonder if it would bind at the bottom.

I thought I was going to see something like the U shaped AK mag.

Seriously though, people will buy them up but I'm more than happy with 30rd P-mags and 20rd USGI mags.

If it's not broke do not fix it.

Sounds like another answer to a question that didn't need to be asked.

20 and 30 rd mags for ARs aren't all that bulky, they are proven quantities. Can't see them being displaced by this idea. Don

I think he's stepping all over MWG's snail drum patents. Besides, the CAD drawing doesn't seem to compensate for the 5.56 cartidges being tapered... which would require the mag to taper at a slight angle... like the snail drum or Beta-C mag.

I wonder how they will hold up after many rounds and different abuses. however, I think it will be tough to gain popularity/usage/market share. A 30 round P-Mag and coupler w/second mag seems like the route I will stay.

It's bulky, so it will be a PITA to handle. It will not work with any current mag carriers. It looks like a design that will be plagued with reliability problems, and most likely durability problems as well.

Agree 100%

I only have 20 round mags for my Mini-14. They are also better for shooting when prone.

The 30 round mags are not as big of a deal on the AR since you already have the pistol grip sticking out from the bottom.

I will be sticking with my GI magazines thank you very much.
