I am curious if there are any 9mm FMJ and JHP rounds that have the same ballistics. I.E. same trajectory/ point of impact. I want to be able to practice mostly with the FMJ but want both rounds to shoot the same so to speak. I am not too worried about the cost of the JHP as I would shoot some, of course, to make sure I am comfortable with it and it would be the carry ammo, but would prefer an economical round in the FMJ so I can shoot/ practice more. Any suggestions?

Speer Gold Dot and Speer Lawman.
What weight would you suggest?
Every load is going to impact in a slightly different place. Visit the manufacturers web sites. All the major brands have a self defense or LE page where they offer a training FMJ load along with their JHP loads. The only way to really know how they print in your pistol is to shoot them. Pick a FMJ and JHP of the same weight, from the same ammo line, and see what happens on paper.
I've found the strangest combinations to print to the exact same point. Barnaul 115gr FMJ groups and impacts exactly the same as Federal 115gr JHP +P+ in my Glocks, but not in my FN's. Federal's American Eagle FMJ prints the same as their JHP +P+ in my FN's... I assume that's the way they wanted it.

Speer Gold Dot and Speer Lawman.
That's what I've read is the best FMJ/JHP combo in 124-grain 9mm.

Speer Gold Dot and Speer Lawman.
^^ This. In 124gr. The Gold Dot in +P may be a tad hotter but it's close enough. The Lawman stuff can usually be had for a great price ($10ish) in 500+ quantity.
Get into reloading and load 'em up exactly how you want!

Yes, yes and yes.
Just got a thousand rounds of 124gr Lawman for less than $.24/round delivered and it's a great practice round for the 124gr Gold Dots.

I have been doing some research (actually started looking before I started this thread) and it looks like a lot of people like/ recommend the Speer rounds. So I think I will be getting those. I have a Glock 19 Gen 4 and was also curious about the differences between the Speer Gold Dot 124 and the 124+p. Is there a difference performance wise? Does the non +p match up better aim wise with the Speer Lawman 124? Is it preferred in the Glock 19 because it is a 4 inch barrel? I read somewhere that the +p were better suited for barrels shorter than 4 inches, is that correct?

For less than $0.24 a round delivered? Where did you find that?

They make a +p "short barrel", but it's more expensive and isn't really needed for a G19.
Got the 124gr Lawman from sgammo, but they're out of stock now :(
