Thinking of parting with a few that I don't see much need in owning anymore. I have some Rock Island and a couple of Kimbers that haven't been shot, literally, in years. Don't want to get rid of anything, but am finding several guns in my collection that are just "taking up space". Not just 1911's either. There are few others that everytime a make a list of guns that I would sell, they make the list every time, but when it comes time to follow through, I just can't bring myself to part with any of them. :dunno:Doesn't make much sense. I try to carry or at least take to the range, everything I own, but I find a few getting left in the safe like they're waiting on the ship to set sail for the island of misfit toys. :rofl:Anyone else have a/some gun/guns that you have no desire to part with, but can't remember the last time you had them on your hip or at the range? Surely I can't be the only one.

I have several 1911's I don't bother shooting. A couple that have real value both monetarily, and sentimentally. A couple others that are painful to shoot because of their stupid bumps on their beavertails.

I have other guns I don't shoot because of their value, or that I haven't gotten around to yet. Some I've had for years.

I haven't shot either of my 1911s in several years. In fact, the rear sight on my full-size is broken and I'm in no hurry to fix it. I love the design and the history of the 1911, but just don't care to shoot them as much as my revolvers and other guns. I'll never sell them because they have sentimental value that far exceeds their monetary value.

Well, I shoot or carry one of my 1911's quite a bit. But I do I have a few that never see the light of day anymore. Most of those were going to be "project" guns, but those projects have been either put on hold or those plans have changed completely.

I have a lot of guns I don't shoot. Probably 95% of them. I shoot really one rifle, one pistol and hunting rifle besides one of my multiple ARs.

I just dont' get rid of guns.

Cull a few and add some which accentuate your collection.

I have one .45. I rarely shoot it because I have six 9mms (including a 1911) and a .22 that are less expensive and just as much fun to shoot.

Ive owned several overall the 1911 is my favorite handgun, but I get bored of things after a year or so and I go through phases. Right now Im in a glock phase, just the other night I sold my Sig Sauer Tacops 1911, bought a G35, and ordered .40 dies, and enough components for 2,000 rounds of .40 with the money left after buying the glock. I will admit though for the price you absolutely cannot beat a glock. Of couse I've still got my g21, I will never be able to go .45 less 1911 less for a while but not .45 less

I've got five pistols built for me by the Gunsite smithy that never leave the safe. They are built on Springfield and Colt platforms and include one Browning Hi Power.

I should probably sell them as a History of Gunsite collection.

I'm in the market for a few different things. Like a DW Guardian.... I'll take that one off your hands. Though, I bet that's one of your carry guns?

I only have 5 and I tend to rotate them for range trips. That forces me to give each on a cleaning on a fairly frequent basis.

I have a Para GI Expert sitting at home right now. It started sitting because I got a loose ejector, but my motivation to fix it kinda petered out. I would like a nicer 1911, but I think when I hit up the range this weekend I will take it to a smith to be fixed for trading fodder. The idea of a CZ or that M&P15 Sport wont leave my head...

They are not hard to fix.
I just did one myself last week.

I took all my 45s out today, was frist time 6 of them have been shot in couple of years. Sure I could sale them and buy some other stuff I want, but not in a rush to get rid of them. And know somewhere along the lines I will want them again.

I just sold my Ruger 1911. Had it for only 6 weeks.

It was a horrible experience. I got a lemon and nothing I can do about it. It was a hit and miss kind of thing.

Ruger's quality is down, way down due to their mass production in recent years. This gun shot worse than the Ruger 1911 rental gun that I tried at my local shop. I wish my gun shop would let me swap mine gun for that rental gun.

It was my first 1911 ever purchased...after all these years.

I will give the 1911 another try. May be a Kimber. But no more Ruger 1911 for a long, long time.

You have made me realize that I haven't shot my Combat Commander in years!

I found a hundred reloads in the bottom of the ammo cabinet. I will put my .32 mag reloading project aside for awhile and take that pony back to the range.
