I think they should send them to our southern border instead.

Great......

I have a better idea. Let's allow the former colonial powers to reestablish themselves in their former colonies. That's about the only way African countries are ever going to improve from what they are now.

I agree. We need to shovel the crap out of our own backyard right now. It's piling up.

Not if they cut the DoD budget by half! It's coming up in 2 1/2 months! You'll have less then 50% of the force maybe.:steamed:

Another colossal waste that doesn't serve America's interests.

We've had troops stationed in northern Africa, north of Somalia, at a FOP surveillance listening base for at least the past three years. Most are NG, but quite a few are also contractors (former Spec. Ops.).

Why send soldiers in Somalia? They are pretty happy there:

Building relationships with 3rd world militaries actually isn't that bad of an idea. In a lot of third world countries, the militaries tend to be less corrupt than the political leaderships, and remain in place throughout multiple regimes.

As long as they know their own backyard is safe, maybe they would like to send some guys to play in Afghanistan.

No big deal. Barry's idea of Homeland Defense.
