I was wondering if the average firearms examiner can tell if a Glock has a 3.5 connector? I have one in my CCW G17 and I cannot tell the difference. What is the big liability of having one in my G17?

Sure they can. Determining trigger weight is standard protocol when firearms and toolmark examiners go over an evidence weapon. They'll weigh the trigger, and will have armorer's manuals at hand. They're more likely than not to be certified armorers themselves.
You'll find a sticky on 3.5 connectors at the top of GT's Carry Issues section, in which the problems with light triggers on defense guns are discussed in exhaustive detail.

I have seen the threads on the 3.5 connector. It is a favored topic.
