I sold a USP to fund a trip to see my then girlfriend. We did eventually end up getting married and just celebrated our 4 year anniversary a bit ago. So, you could say the $750 it cost was worth it.

Hey.......save up and buy more guns!

Guns are really cheap, when you consider how much hooking up with the wrong woman will cost you!

Been there, done that! :wavey:

Ever sell a gun to chase a girl?

NEVER.

I did sell some to buy a house, but that's as far as I will go.

I have since replaced them with ones that I love even more!!!

Sorry about your situation man. I'd have to lie to say I hav'nt done stupid things for a woman. Just never sold a gun to entertain a woman. If I'm broke, I have a really nice bed and to enjoy it to it's fullest is free since it's paid for.

You need to find a gun that is so cute and so cuddly that you want to sleep with it.

Me too. Then I had a lapse in consciousness and got married. She got the house as part of the settlement when we divorced. :whistling:

You could always try selling girls to chase after guns.

I didn't exactly sell a gun to finance a relationship, but.....

I was saving up for an engagement ring for several months, my GF & I talked about marriage, she repeatedly said, "Later, after we're married......" then she decided she "wasn't ready to settle down." I said, "OK, no problem."

I took half of the money I'd been saving for the ring & bought a new Wilson CQB. Unlike her, it's been 100% reliable.

The first gun I ever bought for myself, a Sears-Roebuck double 12, I sold to buy Christmas for my ex-wife. We'd just gotten married, we were broke, and having something to give to her for Christmas, was worth more to me than a gun. Sure, we broke up later, but it was worth it at the time.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat. They're just guns. They can always be replaced.

Isn't it more effective to stalk with a gun than without it?

Here's my thought.

If you have to sell your firearms to "finance a relationship", she's either waaay to needy and expensive, or you are too broke.

Anyways, lesson learned......the hard way.

I sold guns to help fund my first baby, 24 years ago. Sold my Ruger 45LC, 7.5" :(, I miss that gun however it was well worth it to sell.

As for a woman, I would sell ALL my guns for my wife because that how much I love her. :embarassed:

Another thought, is that taking financial losses to finance a relationship, should only happen after you know there's a real relationship. To sell your fun stuff just to find out if the realtionship is real is....well.....a lesson to be learned only once.

If you have to sell your guns to afford a girl, you can't afford the girl. Women are a recurring expense. What are you going to sell when the next payment is due?

Hell no! In fact, I have never sold or traded any of my guns. It's something that I never plan on doing unless it comes down to extremely desperate times.

I sold a few guns to KEEP my wife; sadly it didn't work and she fired me anyway. The good news is my new wife (of 15 years...sorta new) lets me buy whatever I want! I'd say I traded up:supergrin:

Guns and women are a lot alike. Whether you keep 'em or get rid of 'em can depend very much on how sweet the piece is.

Really, it's all about the round count. Most guns win on the cost/benefit analysis.

Buy you're self a nice, pretty Browning Hi Power and never sell it. It will never talk back to you, never give you a hard time because you don't buy it nice things or take it out to dinner or look at other guns.

If I had some surplus heavy artillery pieces or expensive English shotguns that I never fired I would consider selling them if I needed capital to finance the formation of my future family, but I would not consider selling any gun that I would consider useful or carryable.

So luxury guns: yeah go ahead and sell if you need the cash, but guns your life depends on should be keepers.

Chase, no. To keep the one I have, happy, yes. I sold one to purchase carpet for the house. Well worth it though, as she usually buys me guns and pays me back in other ways.

I actually buy guns so I don't have any extra money to spend on women, Looking back now I have found that this has saved me from some rather irrational decisions.
