Savage model 93 rear sights

Hello Friends, I have a Savage Model 93 22wmr that I want to put a scope on, but the rear sight deprives me of putting the lens cover on. Anyone know how to take the rear sight off? Thanks, Bernie

Would a taller scope mount work?

Just go with higher rings, you can even get rings that leave openings under the scope so you can still use your iron sights.

No reason to waste all that extra space.

That's what I did on my Marlin 925 and works pretty well.
