Blued in box, probably 95% condition.
Is $400.00 a decent price?
Thanks.

Sounds fair so long as it's clean and tight.

He says it is.
I thought they came in cardboard, not plastic boxes......anyone know for sure?
This is an older model. You can tell from the indentation on the recoil shield. You're getting close to what a decent Smith would bring, but not totally out of the question for a Security Six in 95 percent condition. You won't be hurt, but you aren't getting a fabulous deal........a good deal? Yes.

I don't think plastic cases are period authentic, but not sure what was going on in the later years of production.
The first SS I bought was in about '81 and there was definitely no plastic cases then.

Reason this particular piece interests is me is that I have a 2. 75" and big bro 6".
So, to complete the family, I just NEED this middle child.

Yea if it's as described you're getting a good piece for the money. My first Security Six was a 2-3/4" stainless and I pounded the crap out of that old girl with some of the hottest handloads I ever assembled for .357 and she never baulked.

Yeah, they are very strong revolvers.

Came in a printed and labeled box, inside of a plain cardboard shipping box. They never saw plastic like that in the pic.

He said Its for a different revolver, probably gp100.
Guess its still a fair deal @ $400.00 if it's in excellent condition.

Does the box mean anything to you?
It's a fair deal, even if it came in a plastic grocery sack......:wavey:

Is that a pre warning gun?
I think Ruger started with the stupid warning label in the late 70's.

No, has the billboard on side......unfortunately.
So does my 1980 Service Six. The warning started a couple years earlier.

$400.00 doesn't sound like a bad price since it has a set of target stock instead of the regular thin grips.

I would buy it in a heartbeat... $400 is a nice price.
