If the election was this week, maybe. Most people have very short memories. Whatever the hot button issue is on Halloween, will be what the election hinges on. We are gonna have to wait to see what that is.

Then no matter what, we will have to deal with it.

Come November the economy will be the main issue. And I don't see the economy doing well at all by then. Especially after oil spikes after the Middle East war starts around September/October.

Agreed. The electorate has the attention span of a 2 year old.

November is an eternity away in political terms. However, if you look at swing state data, I'd say the polls are wrong and Romney is looking much better than mainstream polls seem to suggest.

That's funny. Juan Williams insists that the country is "accepting" Obamacare.

Juan worked for NPR, so he must be right. LOL LOL LOL

We have reached "peak government".

I expected the polling data to show a big swing after the SCOTUS decision last week, but if anything RCP shows Obama moving ahead. I am confused, or maybe just naive.

RCP can only do a compilation of the polls that exist. If the majority of the polls that they compile lean left, it really doesn't matter how "spread across the nation" the polling results are -- the results will still tilt left.

I am more inclined to trust one poll (say Rassmussen) which attempts to use a more balanced methodology, than any compilation of polls taken at random.

We have reached "peak government".

Having taken a few trips behind the Iron Curtain in the 80's, I can tell you that you have no idea how high that peak really is if you think we've reached it.

Correct. It's like a good baseball game in the 9th inning.

Most voters lean towards liberalism. So it's no surprise that socialism is becoming acceptable to so many, even if the 'Hope and Change' they voted for hasn't happened.

The economy will still be the main focus come Nov as there is no way that our socialist, ultra corrupt POTUS will be able to do anything that would improve it. Nor would he want to change it.

What the voters have to look at is how obama/robertscare will worsen the economy. The tax increases will be devastating.

I.E.: Sell your house for $300,000 and you owe the corrupt gov't $11,400 in tax. FOR WHAT!!! Just because obama and the democrats say so?

How much tax will the tax payers pay before they say, "No...we aren't paying it."?

All over the world people have gone to their certain death without any protest, all the while holding out the hope that some Divine act will save them from the inevitable. It did not.

People are sheep.

I think he means that from this point forward, our quality of life will only go down, and the descent into tyranny will only increase in speed.

Well, from a monetary standpoint, we reached peak government some $16 trillion ago.

....... from this point forward, our quality of life will only go down, and the descent into tyranny will only increase in speed.

That happens because "dead" Reps don't vote.

And because Rep politicians don't know how to give a teleprompter speech to the beat of the drums from the oldest continent.

ba ba ba Boom.
ba ba ba Boom.
ba ba ba Boom.

That's the beat to give a speech that will mesmerize any audience.

Think about it.

Think about it.If that's all it took, then Pat Robertson should have cleaned up in 1988. His rival, Jerry Falwell, sabotaged that.
