View Full Version : Just got to fondle a G18
Spending my summer here in Panama City I went to check out the local gun store and turned out they had a Glock 18 to rent !!!!! Was so tempted to rent it but I've spend so much on guns this year already and have two rugers on order back home.... I may go back and rent it next week it's so hard to resist.

Did it feel like any other Glock  Just kidding. One of these days I'm going to look hard into finding one to rent and blow through a 100rds of ammo just for fun.
I say go back and rent the thing.

:agree:
Looks fun! You should rent it!!
It's 50$ to rent per 25 rounds for automatic weapons If your a non-member. Here's their site, they were super nice and I was excited that they let me handle the handguns where I wasn't 21 most bigger places like that have policy's about it.

How "rare" are Glock 18's at class 3 ranges and other places like these?

I don't know, never looked into it. $50 is a lot for 25 rounds, but sometimes you just got to live a little so you can say you've done it.

Maybe I read the site wrong may want to check it for yourself, I'm doing this from my cell phone so I could of just mis-read. I would definitely spend 25$ for it but kinda iffy for only 25 rounds for 50$.....

Yeah, I know it would be a experience.....
50 bucks and you don't even get a full Happy Stick?

I bet you're reading it wrong... That sounds like a lot of money. My LGS/range has one too, I'm going to have to shoot it some time... But I also want to shoot their desert eagle... Decisions decisions... ;)

I think you read it right
Rentals fees are:
Members:
Firearms: $10 per day, machine guns: $25 per 25 rnd magazine, silencers: $10 per day.
Non-members:
Firearms: $20 per day, machine guns: $50 per 25 rnd magazine, silencers: $20 per day.
I rent my guns for $8 or $10 depending on the range. I could see paying double on a Class III, but $50 would be a one time thing.

Shew, that stinks but they were really nice but the prices were expensive on their guns, guess you have to pick between customer service or prices lol.
Go and do it already. You will regret it for life if you don't. 18's are pretty rare.

Yup, go do it! Closest I know is to drive to Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot twice a year.
I don't have much of a 'Dream Guns to Shoot" list, but Glock 18's on top!
I want to really bad, it's just the money I've got two Rugers to pick up when I get back home. I've still got about two weeks to decide whether to shoot it or not.

Had one at the lgs I used to work at and it was a blast to shoot. They rent it to the public. I believe it was the only full auto that we rented that didn't break every week. Congrats man. They're awesome

If you rent it - don't shoot it with that stance!

It had a collapsible stock on it. Can't really see in the picture.

I loved shooting it. I didn't pay $50 a mag though. I only paid $20 for 30 rounds. I shot it twice. Fun but honestly my MP5 is more fun. No kick and you can keep it on target easily. I would definitely rent one if I were you. Most definitely worth the experience.

Thing is I'm not even getting a full magazine just 25 rounds :crying:. For 20$ I would of already of done it!!!!

Got to shoot one a little over a year ago, I could have died happy that day.
As for the $50 for only 25 rounds thats a rip off. Local range that rents out guns is 15 for normal stuff 20 for NFA items. They get you on the you have to buy ammo from them for there guns, we went one time when a friend was home and shot up close to 300 in ammo and this was years ago when ammo was alot cheaper.

Yeah, $50 is a little steep for just 25 rounds of ammo. I remember on a business trip to Memphis, I rented a Full Auto Glock 34, range time/targets, and 250 rounds of ammo for about $110. Yeah, it's not a G18, but I wasn't complaining.
One of the ranges in the area here will rent an MP5, half hour range time, 2 x 25 round magazines, and a target for $35 which is the best deal I've seen around.
Ive seen one at my local gun store..dude has like 10 of them..didnt hold it though.

Id say shoot the G18 over the desert eagle. i own a .50 DE and its nothing special. From owning a DE id rather shoot the G18 over it anyday.

It's not close to the same. You still have to apply forward pressure to the forearm. You are still bump firing. Real select fire is much more accurate with a trained trigger finger.
