Pros and Cons? Which do you like best? Why would you choose one over the other?

I have an R1 and i LOVE it. It is very well built, very accurate, and pretty tight. Hell I cant get the bushing to budge without a wrench. But unless you are looking for a GI model or a model to cuztomize, I would look at the Ruger. The remington that is more in the class of the ones you mentioned would be the "Enhanced" model.

I was impressed by the Remington R1 I handled. Surprised they don't get more attention.

As an owner of all of these, I would be hard-pressed to choose one over the other. I guess that is why I have all of them. I will say this, the Desert Eagle 1911G has one of the sweetest triggers you will ever find on an out-of-the-box 1911. Accuracy on all of these 1911s is superb. I was very impressed with the Remington 1911-R1 Enhanced when I shot it for the first time. Very smooth and effortless to shoot. The RUGER is the same way. I have nothing bad to say about any of them. As for a favorite, I could not choose.

If you are in a hurry, then it may be the first one you find for sale. I also think all are pretty good.

If you can get a Ruger SR1911 for under $700, go for it. Otherwise, I would choose the R1. But don't get ripped off and pay $800 for the Ruger. It's a great gun but only fools pay MSRP or more. Don't be that fool.
The Desert Eagle has the best trigger for sure.
I've got all three.

Sorry but that Desert Eagle roll mark would be a deal breaker for me. That looks terrible. Why do so many makers ruin their otherwise fine looking weapons with absolutely horrible, giant, tacky looking roll marks? Sorry but I don't want my weapon to look like a billboard. The Remington has pretty decent marks but a bit large. The Ruger has nice simple classy marks.

I love the looks of this gun! I have been torn between this and the R1 stainless version. I can get the R1 for $620, the R1 stainless for $ 670. This one reminds me more of the original 1911's but a big shiny fire stick is also very cool!

I don't like it either, but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker.
The right side of the DE 1911 is completely clean.

That really is an assault to decency and taste. Makes that Colt M1991A1 monstrosity look tame.
They could have sold a lot more if they would have used O.G., yo.

Wow...now I really can't decide! If you could absolutely only keep one, which would it be and why?
