Hi mas, my father recently pickup up a glock 22, i am trying to decide which weigh of federal hst for him. he is not recoil sensitive however lighter is better all around, i also believe that 180 gr may be a better choice because of the availability of 180 gr practice ammo making it a more effective round in regards to training with recoil poi/poa. i know that lighter 40 rounds are usually preferred, is the wounding effect of the 180 hst subpar:dunno:? i know its physical performance is quite good around 14in penetration and .75-85 expansion. thanks

While I'm kinda partial to a 155 grain at 1200 fps or a 165 grain at 1140 or so, the 180 grain HST is at the very top of the best subsonic loads in .40 caliber and I certainly wouldn't worry about carrying it.
