So I took my brand new G36 to the range today, and cycled over 100rds through it without one issue (my reloads and some Fed 230 HST).

I've owned and carried Glocks in 9mm (19), 40 (23 & 27), 357sig (32 & 33) and a 1st Gen 21 in 45acp, but this is my first 36. I love it.

I'm sold on the relatively-soft recoil of this pistol (keeping in mind that I have been carrying 40 cal for many years) and although capacity is a small concern, the 36 is a major player in concealment, ergonomics, and weight (and those 230gr pumpkins it launches). I cannot believe that it has taken me this long to get one of these!!!

Great gun. Congratulations. I just got mine late last year and also wonder what took me so long to get one.

Glad to hear, I've been wanting to shoot one before I buy, just havn't found the time, but I really like my friends G30 as well, so I hope it shoots just as nice.
Enjoy!!

Not quite as nice as the g30 if you ask me, just a tad different recoil felt, not necessarily more, just different. if that makes sense. I have g30sf and it feels different than the 36, I'm guessing the slimness of the 36 along with the lighter gun makes a tad more/different felt recoil. but not enough to turn someone away.

Hope that helps. I love them both! (and this time I will NOT let the g36 go!)

I too debated over the G30 vs the 36...advantages of the 30 included the frame rail and larger capacity. I just felt that the slight concealment and weight advantages of the 36 would be more attractive for my purpose.

It was not an easy decision, and I'm pretty sure that I would have been very happy with the G30 for it's strong-points, too.

Congrats. Love my 36. It is my daily carry. You won't hardly know it's there.

Picked up a G36 in place of a G30 two years ago, and it has become my main, large-bore CCW. Cheers.

Put another 100rds through her last weekend after install of XS Big Dot sights (a must for all of my carry guns). Still happy as can be with the weight/accuracy/recoil combo. I have smaller pistols, but I don't have a BETTER pistol for concealed carry!!!
