Help!

I live in the city, I dress like a professional and normal non-commando/preper. I ain't a mall ninja, nor do I fear the great zombie apocalypse. However I do have and have had EDC bag with some standard gear: first aid kit, flashlight, knife, extra mag, h2o, etc....

I have struggled with finding a good bag, not a back pack, nor a dorky computer bag as am EDC bag (I also stash my daily workout gear in and around it).

I currently have a maxpedition monsoon, but find it too commando like and it rests only along my rt shoulder (just not comfortable). It's just too tacti-cool and not too cool.

So, what bag do you all suggest/use?

It may be too "tac" for you, but if not, nothing beats the Emdom TNT bag.

IMO the Monsoon is perfect and way cool. :number1:

You could go with a messenger bag for work days. Timbuk2 (http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/)makes some cool stuff you can customize.

Soft briefcase or gymbag or bookbag are commonly carried by professionals, lunch box or diaper bag or even a tennis racket bag are among many other options.

To be really covert, your compact EDC bag shold easily fit into any of the above, which you would rotate often enough that people might only notice that you usually have some kind of bag.
If you can fit your EDC into a fanny pack for example, you can move the fanny pack from one larger bag to another and nobody would ever see it.

Just look around, see what others are carrying, pick one and blend right in.

Or stand out so much that people will look away:

I got a tan waxed canvas messenger bag from Jcrew about 5 years ago at an outlet store for 40 bucks. My chick thinks I look classy with it and I definitely don't stand out.

Its got plenty of room for a change of clothes, my EDC mall-ninja stuff, and some paperwork/books/work stuff. I don't have a super specific link but its something akin to this.

(hopefully this works, I'm new)

I use a generic messenger bag. I refer to it as my "murse".
No one has ever asked what's in it.

Its not a purse, it's a satchel!!!!! It will also hold $80,000 worth of Bellagio chips.

Why not another gym bag or some kind of overnight bag that just looks like luggage?

Check out this from Hawkepak: http://www.hawkepaks.com/prod.itml/icOid/212. I have one of these and use it as GHB in the summer months.

A Maxpedition Operator attache case works very nicely. It even has a place to hang your CCW badge from if thus inclined.

That said, a bit of dorkishness is a useful asset for CCWing. I wear an Aussie hat that is usually out of place in my surroundings. This means that people think of me as that guy with the hat and not that guy with a CZ Phantom 16+1 IWB. As Houdini and John Travolta would call it: misdirection.

The U.S. peacekeeper is one i bought at a gunrange that looks like it would hold a couple of tablets and a side pocket for kindles.

I carry one every day, my G23 and a 22rd mag fit nicely. Flashlight, lighter, spare cash, pen, other toys in the other pocket.

I can wear it to the farmers market and co-op and none of the urbanites/hippies would ever give it a 2nd glance. Wear it to a gun shop, they know exactly whats in there:embarassed:

How about a "non-dorky" laptop bag?
