So today I decided to go look around my lgs and ended up walking out with a new 10/22. Im looking to put a scope and bipod on this fine weapon and am looking for any suggestions. Im open to anything so let me know what you would do to it if it was yours!

I know it will cost more than the gun, but I've got a TacSol SB-X barrel on mine and it is awesome. I've also got a Barska 3-12 that does the job. I never shoot rimfires far enough to need 12x zoom but it makes printing dime size groups at 25 yards pretty easy off a rest. It is my most shot rifle by far. Treat yourself.

I figure it will be mine too! i shot about 300 rounds through it today and I am really considering spending some decent money on it to see how accurate i can get it!

At what range should be your question. Decide on what you wish to accomplish with the rifle and then chose the optics. Just my .02 FWIW.

My range goes out to 200 yards and i guess thats about the extent of how accurate i can make this rifle. What would be your suggestion for an optic?

I question the. 22 out to 200 yds as an accurate shooter. Many others can weigh-in but you're pushing the capability. Now get a. 17HMR and that's another discussion. If you do go long range, get a scope that has parralex adjustment for different ranges...

Get a Feddersen barrel. you can get some amazing groups with his barrels. At 25 yrd you can get literally one hole groups. This is a picture of 10 five shot groups shot @ 50 yrds using SK Standard+. If I use Lapua CenterX I can get groups like the one in the top center all day long.

Go to Tony Kidd's site, you'll spend all the cash you have there.

Have the trigger group gone over and the bolt squared.
Take it from there with a decent scope and mounts.
test a few boxes of several different manufacturers and loads to see what the gun "likes"

^ That & I just picked up a Leupold 3-9x33 AO for my 10/22.

Turned that 10/22 into a great shooter!

there are so many things you can do to a 10/22 your wallet and requirements are your only limitations. my wifes kidd barrel shoots great (best .25" at 50y five rounds center to center). my clark barrel is almost as good, .27" best. i also have a rechambered factory barrel that shoots around mid .4s @ 50y. all of these rifles have unmodified bolts, but have trigger work. the kidd barrel was $175, the clark i picked up used for $100, and the rechambered ruger barrel was a leftover that came with a gun and i spent $60 to have it cut. so you can spend as much or as little as you want and still have an accurate rifle.

I'm thinkin' that the least expensive thing you can do to the 10/22 is to replace the stock metal recoil buffer with a synthetic one. I use Tuffer-Buffer (as do many 10/22 aficionados). They're good folks, based in Canada -- I got my buffers in about 3 days.

I just tinker with my 1022 'Possum Slayer, but even with the stock barrel I have it tuned to some pretty fine accuracy. Here's some of the stuff I put on mine;

- BARSKA 3x9 scope with IR reticle. Have been very pleased with this scope that runs under a hundred bucks.

- Red Bolt Buffer from Tactical Solutions. http://www.tacticalinc.com/

- Lightweight skeletal charging handle from Tactical Solutions

- CNC Target Bolt Assembly with stainless steel extractor & firing pin from Tactical Solutions.

- TI25 Advanced Composite 25 round magazine from Tactical Solutions.

- Power Custom titanium hammer, sear, and trigger.

- Rimfire Technologies aluminum replacement magazine release.

- Choates folding stock.

- Flash suppressor and Mini Mag Flashlight holder
