This is the same woman that got steamed when she found my Beretta 92 Inox manual in my room when I was 19. Then she rooted out my 870 and 10-22 from under my bed, took them to the police station to ask them to dispose of them and was told that they couldn't do that because they were my property.

And now, http://www.thebesttimes.org/people/cover_stories/0712_cowboy_action.shtml

She's owner of 2 short barrel Cimmaron bird's head grip revolvers, a pair of Evil Roy blued comp revolvers, (with the best single action triggers I've ever felt on any gun)

an 1860 Henry, http://www.cimarron-firearms.com/RepeatingRifles/Henry.htm

a pair of Stoger coach guns and she just recently picked up a pair of old stainless Vaqueros.

My mother was the same way when she found my G19 in 1997. She finally went shooting with me about 5 years ago and now her EDC is a G29.

Looks like you must have done something right. Congratulations. I'd do cowboy matches if I could afford the whole set of guns.

Cowboy shooting isn't my thing but I think it's great that your mother got involved and is enjoying it.

I wish more women would follow in her steps. Don

It seems like Cowboy action shooting is the gateway to shooting for lots of people otherwise not into guns. Nothing wrong with that.

And one of the fastest growing segments of the shooting sports.

Quite correct and great news for the shooting community. Just more people who won't put up with gun control stupidity. Don

Yep. She just needed a segway. She's a seamstress and makes period clothing for renaissance, Victorian, civil war and old west people. She was really digging the old west costumes with the gun belts and somebody got her to fire off a few .38s from a SAA. Next thing you know she's stitching up fancy suede shoulder pads to ease the pain of a double barrel shotgun.

Very cool story... The phenomenon of firearms is quite strange.... Both of my parents were very anti for a long time... I almost choked when my Dad said he wanted a gun... Even more bizarre was when my mom said she wanted her cwp.

Their exposure from me changed their beliefs.... It is interesting.

I love stories with happy endings. From seamstress to shooter. Excellent.
Everybody said, 'Try it, try it!' and I said, 'No! No!' I was very anti-gun, very scared of guns."

But eventually Coyote did try it, and her reaction surprised her.

"I've found that being able to shoot helps me feel good about myself, helps me feel powerful," she said.

You made my day. I couldn't be happier to hear another woman took up shooting. I do believe it is emopowering for them and is capable of giving them a feeling of more control over their lives.

Good for her. If my mom had lived, she would be joining me on the range. I sincerely believe this.

All the women in my immediate family carry guns and hold CCW's. I couldn't be more proud.

(All the guys too, but who's surprised at that)
