View Full Version : George Costanza Actor Releases Lengthy Anti-Gun Statement

I left George Costanza there because nobody knows his real name.
“The advocates of guns who claim patriotism and the rights of the 2nd Amendment – are they in well-regulated militias? For the vast majority – the answer is no,” the actor writes.

“There is no excuse for the propagation of these weapons. They are not guaranteed or protected by our constitution,” Alexander concludes near the end of the over 1,700-word statement. “If they were, then we could all run out and purchase a tank, a grenade launcher, a bazooka, a SCUD missile and a nuclear warhead. We could stockpile napalm and chemical weapons and bomb-making materials in our cellars under our guise of being a militia.”

It's nice to know we can always rely on Hollywood to fan the flames rather than actually offer solutions.

"100,000 incidents of death or injury with guns per annum" seems like a really high number but I've only looked at a few different sources. Maybe I need to take the numbers from all the sources I've looked at and add them together so I see the whole picture.

Everything I read still lists heart disease as the number killer in this country. When was the last time Hollywood took a stand against heart disease. I've got heart disease on both sides of my family so statistically I'm more likely to die from that than being shot.

I guess heart disease isn't sensational enough for Hollywood to care about. So what about car crashes. Car crashes still claim more lives each year than guns. Shall we ban cars? (I won't give up my truck any sooner than I'll give up my guns.) And plane crashes kill hundred of people at a time so we'll need to get rid of airplane travel too. Trains can derail and kill people so that's out.

End rant.

Sounds like a pathetic actor trying to shore up a failing career. This is exactly right. His career has been a train wreck since Seinfeld ended. He's trying to inject his name into any venue where people will see it.

Personally, after seeing his abysmal acting post-Seinfeld, I have no idea how he pulled off the role of George so brilliantly.
