Ok the news said a number of times the Co. shooter spent $15,000 on his attacks. So I did the math.

S&W AR $1,000
Remington 870 $400
2 Glocks $600=$1200
6,000 rounds of ammo 3,000 5.56 =$1,050 3,000 .40 S&W $900.
SWAT outfit not sure about cost my guess $1,000

Total $5.550

Today they said he had homemade gernades and 10 gal. of gas.

How do they trun 5K into 15K?

This makes me not trust anything the media has to say.
Not that I did anyway.

The news is not interested in the truth. They only put out what will Shock a reader.

Don't know if it is true but on the radio today it was mentioned that he may have used funds from a FEDERAL grant that he had recieved to purchase such items!

I have to assume the body armor was more that $1,000.

He was wearing a vest, just not a bullet proof one.

I wouldn't mind a couple of 40mm GLOCKS.

That would be cool.

The guy's sizable online porn bill probably got mixed up in that number...

By the way, has anyone else also noticed the proliferation of the word "clip" in the mainstream reports?

Yes it is very very very annoying.

That, and the repeated use of "assault rifle" in the news.

Although that WOULD explain how he spent 15 grand....

I was thinking the same thing!

Maybe he didn't get free shipping on all that ammo...

Uhhhh .You got it backwards dude. 40mm would be the size of a fricken brick, or thereabouts.

Journalists would be happy to report that more people are killed in massacres using legally acquired firearms than by career criminals, if it served their purposes of sensationalizing and selling newspapers.

40mm would be about an inch and a half, three quarters maybe diameter, but point-40mm, .40mm, four tenths of a millimeter, is miniscule.

nO - LOOK AT THE m203 THE aRMY USES. 40MM about 2 - 2.5 inches in diameter.

I think the other poster was referring to .40mm (i.e. 4/20 of one millimeter)

There's 25.4mm in an inch so your gonna be shy of 2" not over 2" with 40mm. Its math it's simple now how it's written in the story it's .40mm so it's not even 1mm so it would be a pretty small bullet
