I'm wanting a full size, single stack, .45ACP, LDA 1911.

I didn't see any on Para-Ordinance's website, and the [out of stock] gun that fits my description on Impact Gun's website is 14 round double stack.

Any help? External safety would be great too.

Not sure, but it wouldn't be a 1911 anyway.

Para is junk, by the way.

Para Ordnance is the only game in town for a new LDA.
Like Brian stated, Para's quality is very questionable at best.

If I wanted a DAO, I would look first at a SIG-Sauer DAK or a H&K LEM. Either would be miles ahead of a PO LDA for reliability.

Not a single stack, The Sig P250 in 45 has a fantastic DAO trigger system.

On the Colt web sight there is a 1911 DAO, I never saw or read a review of one yet.

I would stick to the Sig P250 or any classic Sig Sauer P line in DAK.

The Double Eagle is long discontinued. I've got a first edition model. I actually like it, believe it or not.

Its not the prettiest gun in the world though.

Very nice BAC

I shot a very rare Double Eagle Officers, and it handled just fine.

Maybe colt should have made them DAO and no decocker,

just might have sold a tad better.

Thank you all for the info! Looks like I'll have to backburner the idea for now.

I like the 1911 platform, especially the thinness of its single stack platform

Cheers

If you like the 1911 platform, why not just get a traditional model?

...just curious is all. :dunno:

Thanks.

The Officer's model isn't nearly as common as the full size, but I've seen a few of them over the years.

The Double Eagle may be out of production, but there's a DA model based on the Government Model.

Apropos of nothing, the Colt Double Eagle was singularly called out in one of the Hong Kong action movies. It was a damn good movie too - the usual stuff: revenge, justice and everybody dies at the end. :) Even got the old Frenchie rock n roller dude Johnny Halliday in it.
