Sold a couple of pistols I didn't really want in the last couple of weeks and turned them into this one.

I've owned a couple of Dan Wesson 22's in the past but sold them off to get something else. This one looks pretty much like new, and having a 4" barrel, appeals to me more than the 6" ones I'd had before (I have a thing for 4" guns). Made in the Monson plant, in the late 70's as best I can determine from the S/N (13327) and information on the DW forum.

The ones I've had shot like gangbusters. I expect this one to do the same.

About the only problem with them is they are BIG and HEAVY for a 22. They're more the size of an "L" frame than a "K".

I have a 6" stainless. Why I have it I'm not sure. It makes my K-22 look "Petite". Everytime I wonder if I want to keep it, I wander out and shoot some tiny groups, and then think i have a reason for a .22 that weighs as much as a 4"629

Very nice. I like that alot. Big and heavy would probably be more of an issue if you carried it but I would guess that would be great fun at the range.

Man I want one of these. Absolutely beautiful revolvers. Should of bought one before their price started going up. Haven't seen one on Gunbroker below $350 for quite some time.

Nice!

I have a 44 with an 8" and 4". Assume the 22 barrels are interchangable length too?

They are, but oddly enough the Dan Wesson's most famous feature is one that doesn't interest me in the least. If I was to want/need a different barrel length, I'd just buy another gun. I have read that the 22's have a different thread to prevent someone from screwing a 22 barrel onto a .357 frame. That would be bad. I don't know that it's true, but it would make sense. I'll leave it to others to confirm that.

I wouldn't mind having a four barrel "pistol pak" but I would probably never use the extra barrels.

T If I was to want/need a different barrel length, I'd just buy another gun. .

Yeah, I mostly feel the same way. But a barrel is only a couple hundred, and I don't have to mess with legal forms, so it is super easy. 8" for hunting, 4" for hiking.

The Thompson Contenders have been very successful and popular with different barrels. I only have one barrel with mine, but I might get another caliber barrel someday. I'll have to add it to my NYS permit because of the caliber change, though. Not a deal breaker, just that it has to be done, unlike with changing length.

Dan Wesons are great firearms. You will have a lot of fun with the 22.
