Sounds like Wendy's corporate made the franchisee take the signs down.

And they even publicly stated that they did. :faint:

True heroism by Wendy's or seeing all that money drive by on the way to Chick-fil-a and desperately wanting some folks to turn in....?

/Capitalism says the latter

Hum... never was a fan of wendy's. Looks like in the future it'll be Chick-Fil-A and Burger King! Cool!

Should a franchisee be able to say whatever they want without any input from the company they 'work for'?

Do the franchised fools in DC get any input from the "Company"(We the people of the United States of America--the "Company" that the franchised fools in DC are supposed to 'work for') before they say/do anything that they darn well want to do---NO!:steamed::upeyes::rofl: IMHO, the franchised fools from the "left" tend to say/do more things(without any input from the "company") than any other group/party of franchised fools in DC.:rofl:

That's not what I meant, which I'm sure you know.

What would happen if a franchise for Chick-fil-a (since they seem to be in the news a lot lately) decided to break camp and stand in support of gays and their supporters? Would/should Chick have any say in the matter...?

[Of course they would; it's their business]

I am not surprised most corporate level people tend to be gutless soulless sell outs that only care about their own bonus package and catering to whatever new PC trend that comes along.

In all truth what does Wendy’s do that others don’t do better? Greasy burgers, bad chili and runny ice cream not sure they really matter all that much.

I agree that the company should have the ability to set boundries/controls over their franchises and they should be spelled out explicitly in the contract/agreement when the franchisee signs it. If there are grey areas there after, I guess they will have to go to court. I just couldn't resist making the comparison with how we have very little(if any) control over our franchised fools in DC--except at election time(and probably not even then).

First Chick-fil-A and now Wendy's.

I'm going to get fat standing up for what I believe in.

At 9:30 pm last night, the drive through lane at my local Chick Fil A was still spilling out onto the side streets.

I doubt Dave Thomas would have wanted this kind of publicity.

Smart business decision.

Last I checked, gays only made up maybe 5% of the population. Toss in their supporters (and since gay marriage failed in many states at the ballot box) and I don't think CFA is going down because of the LARGE number of customers they will lose because of this.

Wishful thinking...but I doubt it will happen. The numbers are probably not there or even close.

Ever stop to think that maybe they GAINED new customers because of this flap?

This free market thingy goes both ways you know.

There are a lot of people who initially opposed CFA, but switched over to supporting it when the mayoral bans started up. Romney and other Republican Congressional candidates need to send thank you notes to these mayors.
